Pakistani security forces clashed with militants in the country’s lawless northwestern tribal region early Thursday, as the military targeted militant hideouts for a second day.
Police officials said 20 militants and three soldiers were killed in the latest fighting in the Jandola and Splitoi areas of South Waziristan.
Wednesday, the military said forces attacked at least 600 suspected militants near Bannu, a district that lies near the border of North and South Waziristan tribal areas.
