Emergency aid to help Pakistan’s refugees passed the $300 Million mark as US President Barack Obama added an additional $200 Million to his pledge of US help, reports today’s Wall Street Journal.
The additional aid comes as the US sees President Zardari making crucial gains to the fight against terrorism in Pakistan. US spokesman Richard Holbrooke said Wednesday,
“We believe that the actions taken by the Pakistani government and the military in recent weeks have been necessary, essential and have improved the situation.”
“No one should be left without getting relief,” he said urging the NWFP government to ensure access of all the affected people to relief goods and activities.
